BONTOC, Mountain Province –The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) opens its recruitment for fire fighters to join their agency.
This was announced by the Bontoc Municipal Fire Station during the Regular Flag Raising Ceremonies on May 21, 2018 at the Eyeb Grounds and during the Municipal Peace and Order Council (MPOC) meeting on May 23, 2018 at Barangay Caluttit.
Qualification standards are male and female Filipino citizens not less than 21 and not more than 30 years of age; must be at least 5’4” in height for male and 5’2” for female: Provided that a height waiver for height and age requirement/s shall be automatically granted belonging to the cultural communities; must weigh not more or less than five kilograms from the standard weight corresponding to his/her height, age and sex; must possess a Baccalaureate Degree from a recognized institute of learning; must have an eligibility either a Civil Service Commission (CSC) – 2nd Level, Republic Act (RA) 1080 or Presidential Decree (PD) 907; a person of good moral character; must have passed the psychiatric/ psychological evaluation, medical examination and drug test for the purpose of determining his/her physical and mental health; must not have been dishonorably discharged or dismissed for cause from previous employment; and must not have been convicted by final judgment an offense or crime involving turpitude.
Covered under the RA 1080 are eligibilities automatically granted to passers of bar examination conducted by the Supreme Court and of licensure board examinations administered by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC). Meanwhile, the PD 907 Eligibility or the Honor Graduate Eligibility (HGE) that is granted to those who graduated summa cum laude, magna cum laude, or cum laude, in their baccalaureate degree, regardless of the number of years of completion.
Applicants shall submit one set of folder containing an endorsement from the Office of the Provincial Fire Marshall; an application letter address to SSupt Lilibeth Q. Simangan, the Regional Director of the BFP- Cordillera Region; Handwritten Personal Data Sheet (CSC Form 212) with recent 2×2 ID photo; Certificate of Eligibility; Transcript of Records duly authenticated by School Registrar; Philippine Statistic Authority (PSA) original copy of Birth Certificate; PSA original copy of Certificate of None Marriage (CENOMAR); original copy of clearances from the Punong Barangay, Office of the Municipal Mayor, Municipal Trial Court, Regional Trial Court, Philippine National Police, and National Bureau of Investigation; and Height Waiver if necessary.
Applicants must include in their folder the physical, medical and dental examination result to include ECG, Urinalysis, CBC with Blood Typing, HEPA B Screening, Cholesterol Creatinine, Chest X-Ray, FBS, Serum Pregnancy Test for females, and Dental Panoramic X-Ray.
Fire Officer I Mirasol M. Navarra of the BFP-Provincial Office said that per memorandum from the BFP- National Head Quarters, priority for Driver and Non-Driver Category are applicants who were holders of National Certificate (NC) II or III IN Driving issued by the Technological Education and Skills Authority (TESDA) and holders of unexpired Professional Driver’s License. This is to ensure that the augmentation of the existing fire trucks in the BFP is properly addressed.
Applicants who fall under the “Driver” category must have both PDL 23 and NC II or III in driving issued by the TESDA. Otherwise, those applicants who fail to submit their NC II or III will be placed under the “Non-Driver Category”.
Also, licensed Engineers specifically Civil, Electrical, Mechanical Engineers and licensed Architects are priorities under the Licensed Architect and/or Engineer Category. This is to strengthen the agency’s pool of personnel who will be designated as Plan Evaluators and other engineering related functions.
Applicants who fall under the Architect and/or Engineer Category must submit photocopy of unexpired PRC ID, Board Rating and /or Certificate of Eligibility.
Navarra mentioned that submission of folders will be on June 4, 2018 to July 6, 2018 at the BFP-Cordillera Regional Office as there is 75 quota allotted for the Cordillera region.
With this, interested applicants are advised to visit any municipal fire stations or the BFP- Provincial Office for queries.
