BONTOC, Mountain Province – Committed to extending higher education services beyond the classrooms through its Extension Services, the Mountain Province State Polytechnic College (MPSPC) has inked a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Bontoc Local Government Unit (LGU) on June 22, 2023.
The Bontoc LGU is represented by Mayor Jerome “Chagsen” Tudlong, Jr., and the MPSPC is represented by College President Dr. Edgar Cue.
It was stipulated in the MOA that both parties shall work together in the implementation and realization of the College’s extension programs. These are Transforming Leadership, Administration, Governance, Policies, and Statutes towards Community Development; iConnect: Bridging the Digital Divide in Mountain Province; Key Skills for Office Management; and among others.
Mayor Tudlong, who has been a part-time instructor at the college before entering politics, assured the continuous support of the Bontoc LGU to the MPSPC.
He emphasized the importance of always being of service to the people while given the opportunity to serve and help.
“While we have the opportunity to help, we help. May we continue to be a blessing not only to our families but to all the people we meet”, Tudlong added.
In his message, Cue remarked that the MOA Signing is a testament to the College’s commitment as a higher education institution to being a member of the community.
“As we have envisioned to transform lives and foster sustainable development, it is the College’s commitment to extend higher education services beyond our classrooms by providing expertise, sharing resources, and assisting in knowledge transfer through instruction, research, and innovation”, he added.
With this, Cue thanked all its partner stakeholders and expressed high hopes that the partnership will serve as a venue to address societal challenges and contribute to sustainable development.
In his inspirational message, Mountain Province House Representative Maximo Dalog, Jr., lauded the MPSPC and its partners present in the said event.
He expressed high hopes that the Signing of the MOA is an avenue for the College to continue engaging in the improvement of the quality of life and that the MPSPC will continue to disseminate and promote innovative, relevant, appropriate, and research-based knowledge in favor of its partners and the community.
Likewise, Dalog assured his support to all the College’s undertakings.
The other parties that inked MOA with MPSPC for partnership are Barangay LGU of Bontoc Ili, Masla National High School (NHS), Otucan Bila NHS, Bauko Central School, Mountain Province Police Provincial Office, Mountain Province Provincial Mobile Force Company, and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration -Regional Office.
