BONTOC, Mountain Province – The Bontoc Municipal Employees Union (BMEU) celebrated its 10th Founding Anniversary on February 14, 2022, at the Bontoc Municipal Capitol auditorium through a general assembly and oath of office of newly elected officers.
In his message, BMEU President Ross Kiat-ong expressed his gratitude to the present administration under the leadership of Mayor Franklin Odsey and the members of the Sangguniang Bayan for pursuing the best interest of the BMEU members especially on occupational safety and health during the pandemic.
Likewise, he assured the all-out support of the union to the Bontoc Local Government Unit (LGU), the health sector and other partner stakeholders to work together for the mutual benefit of everyone under the new normal.
With the celebration of the BMEU’s 10th Founding Anniversary, Kiat-ong emphasized the importance of solidarity.
“On our Union’s anniversary, may solidarity always be in our hearts and minds as we continue to bargain collectively for better working conditions and at the same time uphold workers’ welfare and defend employee and labor rights, “he added.
Meanwhile, part of the general assembly is the oath of office of new set of BMEU officers was administered by Bontoc Mayor Franklin Odsey.
BMEU President Ross Kiat-ong was re-elected of the same position, Oliver Gacusana was re-elected as Vice President, Secretary is Jo Ann Sagandoy, Assistant Secretary is Caren Guinayen, Knittle Jane Lingbanan was reelected as Treasurer, Assistant Treasurer is Cyrine Chilem, Auditor in Rosita Luy-od, Assistan Auditor is Joel Lacaben, Alpine Killa- Malwagay was re-elected as Public Relations Officer, and Chamreine Casiwen is Assistant Public Relations Officer.
Likewise, the union had replaced the 1st and 2nd Level Alternate Representatives to the Personnel Selection Board (PSB). For 1st Level, Karen Peckley replaced Joan Sagandoy and Congoy Abel Pachingel replaced Rosita Loy-od./ Christy Mae F. Che-es & Alpine Killa-Malwagay, Bontoc LGU
