TABUK CITY, Kalinga – Cabaruan Multi-purpose Cooperative is celebrated its 34th Founding Anniversary with the theme “Natibker a kooperatiba nga agtultuloy ti napintas a serbisyo ken programa para ti pagsayaatan ti komunidad ken miembro na”.
Several services were offered during the event, including a medical-dental mission, blood donation, circumcision, haircuts, and weight monitoring for kids. These services were provided in partnership with the City Health Services Office, Rural Health Unit I, Kalinga Police Provincial Office, Kalinga Provincial Forensic Unit, and the Provincial Health Office.
The Cabaruan MPC, which was founded in 1989 and has 4,321 regular members, provides loans for farm machineries, emergencies, regular payments, special purchases, housing, mortgages, and agricultural, and a total asset of P122,425,193.37 as of its August 2023 financial statement.
To formalize its partnership, the cooperative signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) on sisterhood with Tabuk City Officials and Employees Multipurpose Cooperative, St. Andrew Multipurpose Cooperative, and Ipasil Credit Cooperative, and ‘Koop Kapatid’ with the Kalinga OFW Multi Purpose Cooperative to foster stronger partnership on the education, training and community programs.
James Angngad, the chairman of the Cabaruan MPC, in his message, stressed that the organization’s 35-year history of success is a result of strong leadership. In order to actualize the cooperative principle on the care for the community, it assists its partner communities as well as its members in meeting their financial needs.
Hon. Vice Mayor Dick Bal-o, the invited speaker, praised and recognized the cooperative’s commitment to its members and the community. He urged the cooperative to establish itself as one of the city’s model cooperatives and assured it of his office’s and the municipal government’s support for its initiatives to benefit its members and the community as a whole.
In a message given by Cabaruan MPC Chairman James Angngad, he emphasized on the successful operation of the organization in the last 35 years because of good leadership. In its existence, it helps the members for their financial needs, as well as its partner communities to realize the cooperative principle on the concern for the community.
Hon. Vice Mayor Dick Bal-o, the guest speaker, admired and acknowledged the contribution of the cooperative to its members and the community. He encouraged the cooperative to set as one of the model cooperatives in the city and assured that his office and the city government will support the cooperative in its programs for its members and the community.
The founding anniversary also highlighted the condonement of penalty for members’ past dues and discount given when they purchase coop products. Likewise, during the program, the Dapun for Cooperatives and Enterprises (DCE) was conceptualized by Engr. Ronald Ryan Jose of the City Cooperatives and Enterprise Development Office was launched.
The objective of the DCE program is to promote an additional market for the products of the cooperatives and enterprises.
