BAGUIO CITY – A call center agent moonlighting as a drug pusher was arrested by agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, Cordillera Administrative Region (PDEA-CAR) in a buy-bust operation earlier today at Purok Magsaysay, Barangay Loakan Proper, Baguio City.
Juvenal Azurin, PDEA-CAR regional director, identified the arrested notorious drug trader as Felix Anthony Isican Miran a.k.a. Tonying, 31 years old, married and a resident of Pidawan, Loakan Proper, Baguio City who was collared when he sold a brick of marijuana worth P 4,000.00 to an anti-narcotics agent who acted as a poseur-buyer during the sting operation.
Upon his arrest, the PDEA-CAR official disclosed Miran also yielded a sachet of methamphetamine hydrochloride also known as shabu and the buy-bust money. A mobile phone used during the transaction was also confiscated from the suspect.
He is now temporarily detained at the PDEA-CAR detention facility pending the filing of cases for violation of Republic Act No. 9165 otherwise known as the “Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.”
Azurin revealed that the arrest of Miran serves as a stern warning against erring drug personalities who prey on call center agents. Call center agents who are using dangerous drugs are advised to veer away from the unlawful habit.
