Former House Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano on Wednesday vowed to pursue the inclusion of the proposed P10,000 direct stimulus per family in the 2022 national budget.
“Ngayon, break ng Congress pero pag resume itutuloy ang budget at P500 billion ang idadagdag sa budget next year,” Cayetano said during the livestream of the Kwentuhan with Balik sa Tamang Serbisyo (BTS) sa Kongreso program on October 13, 2021.
(Congress is currently on a break but when it resumes, it will push through with the budget and P500 billion will be added for next year.)
“Ibig sabihin kasyang kasya yung P200 out of P500 billion para sa sampung libo sa bawat pamilyang Pilipino,” he added.
(That means there would be enough for P200 billion for every FIlipino family out of the additional P500 billion.)
Cayetano was joined by Taguig 2nd District Rep. Lani Cayetano and Bulacan 1st District Rep. Jose Antonio “Kuya” Sy-Alvarado in the livestream, during which they walked around Bonifacio High Street as they talked.
They also announced 130 new beneficiaries for the Sampung Libong Pag-asa program, bringing the total to 12,062 since it started in May this year.
Cayetano gave assurance that the program will continue despite their busy schedules amidst the pandemic.
“Hindi tayo puwede na hindi magkita-kita sa Wednesdays kasi may bibigyan tayo ng P10,000 para makatulong sa kanila. Napakaraming umaasa,” he said.
(We can’t skip meeting on Wednesdays because we need to give people P10,000 to help them. Many people are placing their hopes on this.)
Launched on May 1, the Sampung Libong Pag-asa program provides Filipino families with financial stimulus of P10,000. It showcases a key part of Cayetano’s economic recovery plan to help families purchase their basic needs and revive their sources of income during the pandemic.####
