LUNA, Apayao – “I did all I can.” This is the gist of the message of the outgoing Provincial Director PSSUPT Felix Dayag before Governor Elias Bulut, Jr., provincial and municipal officials, heads and representatives of National Line Agencies, Philippine National Police Personnel and the Iapayaos during the formal turn over of command ceremony held here on April 19, 2017.
Dayag who will be retiring as he turns 56 on May 24, 2017 expressed his gratitude to all officials of the province lead by Governor Bulut and Representative Eleanor Bulut-Begtang due to their optimum support in the programs of the PNP.
“More than a year of serving the people of Apayao is so short but as we know, everything comes to an end. Inkabil ko amin nga kabaelak tapno mamintenar ti linak ken talna ti probinsiya (I put all my efforts in order to maintain peace and order in the province),” Dayag said.
Meanwhile incoming Officer-in-Charge PD PSSUPT Dominador Halog, Jr. acknowledged the “big problem” he is facing in wanting to sustain the feat which the province has already attained as one (1) out five (5) drug cleared provinces in the Cordillera.
Halog said, it is very hard to sustain the status of being a drug cleared province but he is optimistic that through holistic approach and support from the Local Government Units, it can be done. He also appealed to all Chiefs of Police of the province not to discard the help it may be provided by others specially LGUs.
“Haan mi kaya no awan ti suporta ti LGU (We can’t do it without the support of LGU). To all Chiefs of Police, remove “Solomonic Approach” so that we can sustain a drug-cleared province,” Halog concluded.
Dayag who stayed in the Province of Apayao for one (1) year and three (3) months is already on a non-duty status since April 3. Halog on the other hand heads the RPCRD of PRO Cordillera before coming to Apayao. He assumed office on April 1.
PSUPT Josel Pagulayan facilitated the turn-over of command symbol as Regional Director PCSUPT Elmo Francis Sarona did not make it to this occasion due to equally important commitment.
In appreciating the good deeds of Dayag, a Provincial Resolution was enacted by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan members headed by Vice Governor Remy Albano. Another resolution was handed to Dayag through the LMP President Mayor Rolly Guiang. Also, in-kind tokens were given to Dayag by the provincial and municipal officials and together with the heads and representatives of the NLAs.
