The leadership of the Department of Agriculture-CAR changed effective November 2017. Through the Special Order No. 1551, series, 2017, signed by Secretary Emmanuel “Manny” Piñol last November 6, 2017, Dr. Narciso A. Edillo was designated as the new Regional Executive Director of the Department of Agriculture – Cordillera Administrative Region (DA-CAR). Another special order was simultaneously issued and signed by the Secretary designating Dr. Lorenzo M. Caranguian as OIC-Regional Executive Director of Region 02.
The leadership turnover ceremony was held on November 14, 2017 at the Conference Hall, DA-RFO-CAR, BPI Compound, Guisad, Baguio City.
Mr. Rufino M. Panagan, Consultant of Luzon A Cluster; Dr. Jesus A. Aspuria, Superintendent, BPI-BNCRDC; Dr. Arlene L. Flores, Center Director, ATI-CAR; Director Efren F. Piñol, TESDA-CAR; and employees and staff of DA-CAR witnessed the ceremony.
Dr. Caranguian thanked the employees and staff of DA-CAR for the services they gave in his terms for the development of the Region.
Prior to the turn over, Dr. Caranguian also briefed Dr. Edillo on the current programs and project activities of the agency. He also briefed Dr. Edillo about the agency projects for implementation in the future.
Among his priorities that he would like to focus on as Regional Executive Director of DA-CAR are researches on the agro-climatic conditions and the high value crops of the region. Dr. Edillo hopes to achieve the region’s goal towards agricultural sustainability together with the people of Cordillera.
