TABUK CITY, Kalinga – Members of the Cordillera office of the Department of Health (DOH-CAR) presented five city government health care institutions namely the City Health Office (CHO), and the four rural health units (RHUs) situated in the barangays of Dagupan Centro, Bulanao Centro, Calanan, and Agbannawag, with licenses to operate as primary care facilities during the recent personnel flag raising ceremony.
Dr. Henrietta Bagayao of the CHO claims that the operating license is equivalent to a DOH mark of excellence.
The five healthcare facilities’ compliance with the Universal Healthcare Act was a factor in the issuance of their license to operate.
One requirement of the Universal Healthcare Act is the issuance of a license to operate in order to ensure that the services provided by each healthcare institution are up to par and that the general public is confident in the facility’s ability to provide safe care.
Birthing homes, a secondary clinical laboratory, dental services, ambulance services, a pharmacy, x-ray services, and other medical services are provided by the CHO and the 4 RHUs.
