TABUK CITY, Kalinga – Assistance for relief has been provided by the city authorities to four families in Bulanao affected by the fires on March 19.
The City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (CDRRMC), through the Food and Non-food Cluster (relief distribution team), on March 20, led the distribution of sleeping kits, hygiene kits and family food packs to the said fire victims. The team also did an interview to assess other needs of the families and their children.
The families of Randy Gayawet, Albert Gayawet, Valerie Gayawet and Jomar Garcia whose houses were engulfed in fire are now being monitored by the CSWD for other forms of assistance, or for possible referral to the Cordillera office of the Department of Social Welfare and Development.
Marinel Dorgay from CSWDO, a member of the CDRRMC, stated that in addition to relief goods, the relocated families can receive financial support through the CSWDO’s assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation program.
The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) Kalinga also extend help to the affected families in the form of food packs.
