City officials recently honored Zorland Claudio Pimentel of SLU-SVP barangay as a centenarian having born on June 3, 1924 in Vigan City, Ilocos Sur.
In a resolution, local legislators stated that the local government honors its elderly for longevity and values their contributions to the development of the community and the city.
Further, it recognizes the values they have ingrained in the culture and the strength of character as a legacy to withstand the struggles and challenges of time.
Pimentel was born on June 3, 1924 in Vigan City, Ilocos Sur. He is a long time resident of SLU-SVP barangay and an active advocate of a holistic health care and balanced living.
He, together with his wife, Basilisa Pimentel, actively participates in the community and church activities and gladly shares their time and resources for worthy causes like wellness and love for life despite their age.
Pimentel is a retired supply officer of the local government where he dedicated his productive years serving the public with commitment and loyalty. The couple is blessed with three children who are all professionals in their own right, namely, Rodolfo, Roland, who passed away recently and Grace.
The council stipulated that Pimentel be awarded and rewarded the privileges of a centenarian pursuant to existing ordinances and amendatory ordinances that had been enacted honoring the centenarians of the city.
Copies of the approved resolution will be transmitted to Pimentel for information, guidance, ready reference and further needed action. By Dexter A. See
