BAGUIO CITY June 16 – City officials recently approved the request of various organizations to be members of the Baguio city people’s Council.
Under Resolution No. 336, series of 2023, the members of the said council are Ako Volunteer Action Group, Inc.; Girls Scouts of the Philippines (GSP) Northern Luzon Region – Baguio City Council; Baguio Center for Young Adults, Inc. (BCYA); Wasdinsumya Multipurpose Cooperative, Baguio city; Northwestern Luzon League of Cooperatives (NORWESLU); Zero Waste Baguio, Inc.; International Federation of Samahang Ilocano (IFSI) Baguio-Benguet; Seven Seven Hundred Seven Association of Baguio City, Inc.; UPLIFE Movement, Inc.; Baguio-Benguet Public Information and Civic Action Group (BBPCAG). Global Leadership Network Philippines; Baguio-Benguet Market Plaza Cooperative Multipurpose (BAMAPCOM) Entrepreneurs Multipurpose Cooperative; Kabalikat Civicom Association, Inc.; Philippine Dental Association (PDA) Baguio City Chapter; Youth-On-Point; Jaime V. Ongpin Foundation, Inc. (JVOfI); APRUB Volunteers Association, Inc.; Community Local Travels and Tours Transport Service Cooperative; Senior Citizens Association of Barangay Irisan (SCABI); National Chaplains of the Philippines – Baguio City Chapter; Filipino-Japanese Foundation of Northern Luzon, Inc.; Council for the Restoration of Filipino Values (CRFV); Timber and Lime Multipurpose Cooperative; Child and Family Service Philippines, Inc.; Igorota Foundation, Inc. – Baguio City; Baguio City Market Multipurpose Cooperative (BCMMPC); Cordillera Women’ Education, Action Research Center, Inc.; Autism Society Philippines – Baguio; Indigenous Peoples Education for Arts Culture and Empowerment, Inc (IPEACE); First Citizens of Baguio City Organization (FCBCO) and Indigenous Peoples Organization (IPO); Wood, Rock and Flowers Group, Inc.; Onjon ni Ivadoy, Association, Inc.; and Kabalai Community, Inc..
Earlier, the said groups signified their intentions to be members of the so-called Baguio city People’s Council through various communication letters that were submitted to the local legislative body.
The committee on Appropriations and Finance, Cluster C in its 4th endorsement dated May 30, 2023 recommended approval of the requests of the said organizations to be members of the people’s Council.
