Mayor Victorio Palangdan announced that classes in all levels, both private and public schools in the municipality of Itogon will remain suspended until Friday, September 21, 2018 due to the devastation of the town brought by Typhoon Ompong.
Itogon suffered the most damage among towns in CAR, with most victims coming from the buried bunkhouse that was converted to a chapel.
As of 6:00pm, data gathered from the CRDRRMC showed Itogon has already registered 46 fatalities, with several more believed to be already dead and their bodies still to be recovered by rescuers.
