URDANETA CITY, Pangasinan March 13 – A 44-year old construction worker died after he was allegedly stabbed by his own cousin during a heated altercation at Zone 1, Cabuloan, here, Sunday.
Police authorities identified the fatality as Gilbert Baniago Bernales, 44, construction worker while the suspect was named as Alex Baniago Lique , 28, married, helper, both residents of Zone 1, Cabuloan, Urdaneta City, Pangasinan.
Initial police investigation showed the victim and the suspect had an alleged heated altercation when the latter brought out a bladed weapon and stabbed the former several times on the different parts of his body.
The victim was rushed by concerned neighbors to the Urdaneta District Hospital for medical treatment but he was declared dead on arrival by attending physicians due to multiple stab wounds on the different parts of his body while the suspect is now the subject of a manhunt operation by responding police operatives.
The motive of the stabbing incident has yet to be established by the responding police operatives.
