BONTOC, Mountain Province – Twenty-seven families now have access to safe and secure homes following a turnover ceremony held in Barangay Dalican on February 1, 2024.
The project was funded by the Department of Social Welfare and Development under the Core Shelter Assistance Program of the Disaster Response and Management Division (DRMD).
According to Social Welfare Officer III Stephanie Kanongkong of the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office, a total of ₱15,920,190.00 was turned over to the Dalican Neighborhood Association for Shelter Assistance (NASA) for the first 130 beneficiaries while ₱6,500,000.00 was given to the second batch with 50 beneficiaries.
Meanwhile, OIC Division Chief Marifil Jugal of the DSWD-CAR DRMD who represented OIC-Regional Director (RD) Enrique Gascon, Jr., mentioned that the success of the project is a testament to the collaboration of the agency, the municipal and barangay Local Government Units, Dalican NASA, the beneficiaries, and the community.
Mayor Jerome “Chagsen” Tudlong, Jr., expressed his utmost appreciation to the DSWD for their commitment in extending social services to the community, adding that their dedication significantly contributes to the overall well-being of the residents.
He further assured that the Bontoc Local Government Unit and its partner agencies would continue to bring government services closer to the community.
