City officials recently commended and recognized the City Health Services Office (CHSO) headed by Acting City Health officer Dr. Celiaflor C. Brillantes and the Management Information Technology Division of the City Mayor’s Office for the innovative Coronavirus Disease 2019 tracking system developed by the city government and effectively employed by the city contact tracing team and which was the highlight of the Presidential Lingkod Bayan Award conferred to the city during the awarding rites for the 2023 Search for Outstanding government Workers.
Under Resolution No. 149, series of 2024, local legislators stated that the city recognizes the hard work and dedication poured by its personnel and its relentless efforts to address the global COVID-19 pandemic and thus, bestows its commendation and recognition for their collective efficient performances of their duties.
The Search for Outstanding Government Workers is an annual quest conducted by the Civil Service Commission (CSC) as part of the government’s rewards and incentive mechanism under the Honor Ward program. The annual search aims to recognize civil servants who have shown utmost dedication and commitment to their work as well as to inspire other “|State employees towards deeper improvement in public service.
During the awarding ceremonies held last February 14, 2024 at the Malacañang Palace, the lead contact tracing team of the local government was one of the teams conferred with the Presidential Lingkod Bayan Award by President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. for its innovative ideas and impactful actions undertaken in addressing the COVID-19 pandemic.
The council claimed that the pioneering NCOV-19 tracing system developed by the city is a tracking system and case management measures involving collaboration between law enforcers and health personnel or authorities using automated data analysis, use of various analytical tools, and cognitive interviews that was originally developed and operated by the city.
The body stipulated that the entire CHSO workforce headed by Dr. Brillantes valiantly conducted the contact tracing and provided the information which was the basis for addressing efforts and strategies of the local government to combat the pandemic.
Copies of the aforesaid resolution will be transmitted to the concerned local government offices for their information, guidance, ready reference and further needed action. By Dexter A. See
