DNJPES ,BCUHS,YMCA Badminton Club share overall ranks in YMCA Open Invitational Badminton Tilt

BAGUIO CITY- Netting the Overall Championships in the concluded 2015 YMCA Badminton Invitational Tournament was Dona Nicasia J. Puyat Elementary School for the elementary division, while Baguio Central University High School nets the high school division, likewise the YMCA Badminton Club retained their overall championship for the corporate level, selection of the overall champions was based on overall medal standings.

The YMCA Badminton Tilt scheduled September 19-20, 2015 held at the YMCA gymnasium here was attended by a total of 24 teams for the elementary, high school and corporate levels with a total 248 participants from the different elementary and high school and Badminton clubs from Baguio City and Benguet to include those from Bangued ABRA, Laoag City, San Jacinto Pangasinan, and the Shuttle Masters of Manila.

The Annual YMCA Badminton Tilt gave individual and overall trophies, certificate of merit to winners and certificate of participation to all participants, with accompanying raffle draw to win door prizes throughout the duration of the tournament.

Meanwhile based on reports, winners for the Elementary division in six categories are as follows; BOYS DOUBLES LEVEL A: Champion – Jannuario Jade Calawaen & Lorenzo Peralta Jr. (DNJPES), 1st runner up – Randall Jhay Bencio & Kyle Christian Alcantara (DNJPES), BOYS DOUBLES, LEVEL B: Champions –  Joshua Barut & Nikolai Sales (Davids Team), 1st runner up – Calabias & Julian (San Jose ES), GIRLS DOUBLES, LEVEL A – Champion – Sofia Bianka Taculao & Charmain Grace Guimbatan (DNJPES), 1st runner up – Shaina Marie Guimbatan & Erika Jewel Cantil (DNJPES), GIRLS DOUBLES, LEVEL B – Champion – Althea Rio Fuentespina & Nathasia Ugay (SWCSF), 1st runner up- Salawad & Julian (San Jose ES), MIXED DOUBLES, LEVEL A – Champion – Jannuario Jade Calawen & Julianne Lim (DNJPES), 1st runner up – Charmainne Guimbatan & Kyle Alcantara (DNJPES), MIXED DOUBLES, LEVEL B – Champion – Alliah De Guzman & Jozh Ann Agalos (PHASES), 1st runner up – Mary Ann Dizon & Jaugh Castro (SWCSF).

Meanwhile, twenty nine pairs or fifty-eight players contested on only three categories in the High School division in accordance with players levelling with the following winners; BOYS DOUBLES, LEVEL B – Champion – Jerome Belong & Marwin Minera (Davids Team), 1st runner up – Alec Arthur Mayos & Darwin Buligon (Saint Louis Pacdal), GIRLS DOUBLES, LEVEL B – Champion – Glay Abanes & Kayla Mae Bagyan (BCU-HS), 1st runner up – Katrine Dumling & Ma Beatrice Pakan (SLP),  MIXED DOUBLES, LEVEL B – Champion – Shun Moon & Justine Mae Cayat (SWCSF), 1st runner up – Kyle Baron De La Cruz & Justine Lucas (SLU-LHS).

On the other hand, Corporate Level winners in five categories of competition are as follows:  MEN’S DOUBLES, Level A – Champion – Mark Que & Jeff Sumentac (YMCA), 1st runner up – Bernard Ablang & Francis Ablang ( Bangued Abra), MEN’S DOUBLES, LEVEL B – Champion – Adrianne De Vera & Jake Alex Rigor (Bangued Abra), 1st runner up – Danu Biswelan & Adrian Corpuz ( Bangued Abra, MEN’S DOUBLES, LEVEL C – Champion – Jener Tumitit & Roland Oania (YMCA/Philex BC), 1st runner up – Abrah Paras & Ric Morales ( Shuttle Masters, Manila), MEN’S DOUBLES, LEVEL  D – Champion – Jomer Mercado & Gielo Nicolas ( Shuttle Masters, Manila), 1st runner up – John Manansala & Raynaldo Oliva (YMCA), MEN’S DOUBLES, LEVEL E – Champion – Kamran Kafayati & Christian Lebores (Ragsak), 1st runner up – Arjhay Pascua & Roderick Zapanta (RAGSAK).

For Women’s Doubles, the following are the winners: WOMENS DOUBLES, LEVEL A – Champion – Miechelle Latoza & Judith Beldad ( RAGSAK), 1st runner up – Mary Ann Velo & Mercy Oania (YMCA), WOMENS DOUBLES, LEVEL C – Champion – MIA & KC (Laoag City BC), 1st runner up – Sheng Reyes & Carissa Taclaoan ( ABRA), WOMENS DOUBLES, LEVEL D – Honeylette Taeza & Mica Corpuz (ABRA), 1st runner up – OMIE & Mayda (Laoag City), WOMENS DOUBLES, LEVEL E – Champion – Rowena Bautista & Eleanor Dabucol (YMCA), 1st runner up – Vivienne Maccangan & Abbygail Mamerto (YMCA).
