BAGUIO CITY – The Cordillera office of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) conducted a 10-day Construction Supervision and Management Training at the 5th Floor DPWH-National Training Center from August 7-18, 2023, the first one after eight years since said training was last held.
The training aims to augment the roster of competent construction, project, and resident engineers by imparting the latest developments in project cycle and management, their roles and responsibilities in various stages of project implementation, and equip them with the latest innovative techniques necessary in making sound decisions.
DPWH officials and engineers with expertise in construction supervision and management were invited as Learning Service Providers, to discuss the theoretical aspect of the training as well as the techniques necessary in the field.
The training ended on August 18, 2023, with 49 graduates, acknowledged by Supervising Administrative Officer Carmen C. Lardizabal and District Engineer Charles C. Sokoken confirming the graduates.
“I know that you are the future of DPWH. DPWH is exerting all efforts to capacitate us, especially you, young ones, to ensure that the service that we are imparting to the public is excellent. I am glad that you are very aware of the importance of competency…let us conduct a SWOT analysis of ourselves, in our personal lives related to our professional development. Congratulations again, for completing this training/seminar, I hope to see you again in other seminars in the future,” Sokoken said in his closing message. By DPWH-CAR
