LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – In support of the advancement of plans and programs of the Philippine National Police Forensic Group, DPWH-CAR has completed the construction of the 40 million four-storey Regional Forensic Unit Cordillera (RFU-COR) Crime Laboratory Office located at Camp Bado Dangwa, La Trinidad, Benguet.
The official turn-over, blessing and inauguration ceremonies of the newly RFU-COR facility were led by DPWH Regional Director Khadaffy D. Tanggol with Benguet Provincial Governor Melchor D. Diclas, PNP Chief PGen Rodolfo S. Azurin, Jr., Forensic Group Director PBGen Constancio T. Chinayog, Jr, and Congressman Eric G. Yap represented by Ms. Gerah Siddayog recently.
During the program, guest speaker PGen Azurin expressed his deep appreciation to the Department for their invaluable support and efforts in constructing PNP buildings and offices not only in Cordillera but throughout the country and in return offered the services of the whole PNP in maintaining the peace and security in DPWH project sites.
“I offer the services of the whole PNP, saan man po ang mga project ninyo…pagka critical po yung lugar, sabihin niyo lamang po at magpapadala po tayo ng ating mga kapulisan para lang sa ganoon, inch by inch habang kayo ay nagsesemento ng kalsada, nandudoon po yung mga pulis to ensure po na wala pong manggagambala sa ating mga Contractors na gagawa ng mga kalsada”, he said.
Meanwhile in his message, Tanggol commended all the men and women behind the successful realization and completion of the project and assured the support of DPWH to PRO-COR in achieving their mission to be a highly capable, effective and credible police regional office working in close cooperation with a responsive community.
“We would also like to express our earnest appreciation and deepest gratitude to our local officials and all our partner stakeholders who continue to provide unwavering support to all our endeavors. DPWH-CAR cannot accomplish the various infrastructure we see today without your cooperation. We hope that such coordination between and among our offices will remain strong and be sustained for the good of the public that we serve”, RD added
Implemented by the Benguet First District Engineering Office (BFDEO) under the direct supervision of District Engineer Isagani Cayme, the newly-built crime laboratory office funded under the Tatag ng Imprastraktura para sa Kapayapaan at Seguridad (TIKAS) or DPWH-PNP Convergence Program, is expected to provide a well-equipped, more accessible and comfortable workplace for the RFU-COR forensic examiners and personnel for the effective and efficient delivery of their quality forensic services to the public.
Present also in the said activity are BFDEO Assistant District Engineer Edgardo G. Enriquez, Project Engineer Henry Apostol, RFU-COR Chief Marites Bugnay Villacarlos, other key officials and personnel from PRO-COR, PNP Forensic Command Group and Local Government Units, representatives from our stakeholders and members of the tri-media.
