LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – A street level drug personality was arrested while over P1.8 million worth of illegal drugs were confiscated by combined police operatives and anti-narcotics agents during separate operations in Baguio City and Mountain Province last Monday.
In Baguio City, the joint operatives of Pacdal Police Station (PS3), City Drug Enforcement Unit, City Intelligence Unit, and PDEA-CAR arrested a 31-year-old male security guard in a buy-bust operation conducted in barangay Gibraltar after he sold one sachet of suspected shabu weighing more or less (MOL) 1 gram with a Standard Drug Price (SDP) of P6,800.00 to an operative who acted as a poseur buyer.
In the course of his arrest, another sachet of suspected shabu weighing MOL 1 gram with an SDP of P6,800.00 was recovered from his possession.
The inventory of the seized pieces of evidence was conducted onsite in the presence of the suspect and witnessed by DOJ representative, Ms. Marie Melanie Geronimo; media representative, Mr. Christopher Bartolo; and Barangay Chairman Nemesio Huag of barangay Gibraltar.
The arrested suspect and pieces of evidence were brought to the custody of PS3 for proper disposition and documentation.
Meanwhile, in a marijuana eradication operation conducted in Kalinga, the joint operatives of 1st Kalinga Provincial Mobile Force Company, Tinglayan Municipal Police Station, and PDEA-Kalinga discovered MOL 9,000 pieces of fully-grown marijuana plants with an SDP of P1,800,000.00 in Brgy Loccong, Tinglayan.
All discovered marijuana plants were burned onsite, while follow-up operations are being conducted to locate other marijuana plantation sites in the area and apprehend possible cultivators. By Dexter A. See
