TABUK CITY, Kalinga – During the capability intervention for Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP), held today at Tree Tops Eco Adventure Resort, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)-Kalinga encouraged the beneficiaries of the SLP to develop an entrepreneurial mindset.
The trade and industry development specialist Aurelia Sanet, who spoke during the activity, stated that an entrepreneurial attitude is necessary for a livelihood project to be successful.
According to Sanet, a growth mentality is necessary, which means that SLP beneficiaries should be open to change, eager to learn new things, willing to put in more effort, and driven to succeed.
She went on to say that having a growth mindset enables business owners to have a creative mindset, which gives them the confidence to constantly look for better outcomes.
“With strong entrepreneurial mindset, any person engaged in livelihood project can grow and expand his horizon,” she noted.
Speaking to the participants, Sanet stressed the importance of willingness to innovate, to make a difference, and learn from mistakes in any kind of business.
Vulcanizing shop, school supplies, rice mill, retail and sale of LPG, sari sari store, bakery, and rice mill are a few livelihood projects that can be established by the SLP beneficiaries following their receipt of the first tranche of cash aid amounting to P300,000.00 from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)-CAR.
