PUGO, La Union – The municipal government and the Tinungbo Organizing committee recently launched the various activities for the month-long Tinungbo Festival that will run from December 11, 2022 to January 22, 2023.
The theme of the 5th edition of the town’s crowd drawing event is ‘Continuity of Efforts and Strengthening Resilience for Sustainable Development and Brighter Future.’
Last December 11, 2022, the festival kicked off with the 111th founding anniversary program of the municipality, followed by the recognition of the outstanding citizens of the town and the opening program of the Tinungbo Festival and the traditional Battle of the Bands.
The Mr. Pugo pre-pageant was held last December 16, 2022 which was followed by the woodcarving competition and choral competition for elementary and high school categories on December 17, 2022.
On December 18, 2022, there will be an inter-office athletic competition in the morning which will be followed by the Ms. Pugay pre-pageant night.
The choral competition among the participating 14 barangays of the municipality will be held on December 23, 2022, which will be followed by the continuation of the inter-office athletics competition on December 24, 2022.
The inter-office athletics competition that will involve the participation of the barangays will continue in the morning of December 30, 2022 followed by the Zumbarangay in the evening of the same day.
The traditional Pasungad 2023 to welcome the coming of the new year will be held at the municipal plaza on December 31, 2022 . Car and motor enthusiasts will have a chance to actively participate in the car and motor show in the afternoon of January 6, 2023 which will be followed by the Enduro – Mountain Bike in the morning of January 7, 2023 and Dance Craze in the evening of the same day.
Running enthusiasts will also have a chance to join the Color fun run in the morning of January 8, 2023 and the Kabataan Night in the evening of the aid day.
There will also be a gymnastics recital on January 13, 2023 which will be followed by the Educators Night on the evening of the said day.
The Enduro Challenge III final track read, LGBTQIA+ Day and Ms. Pugay Coronation Night will be held on January 14, 2023.
On January 15, it will be the Enduro Challenge Race Day and Mr. Pugo 2022 Coronation Day.
The Tinungbo festival civic parade and the Tinungbo Community Night including the awarding of the Search for Clean and Green Barangay and Awarding of Tinungbo Sportsfest winners will be conducted on January 20, 2023.
The famous Tinungbo Cook Festival and Laro ng Lahi will be held on January 21, 2023 which will be followed by other events that will be included in the lineup in the coming days.
