Taking a College Entrance Test (CET) needs careful planning, preparation and focus because unlike professional board exams that one can re-take many times, CETs can only be taken once, and are considered to be highly challenging exams.
A high school student who aspires to enter a top and prestigious university for the college degree of his/her dreams must seriously start preparations as early as Grade 10. He/she needs to have already chosen a career path to take by either choosing the ABM, HUMSS, STEM or GAS track when he/she enters senior high school. But with today’s academic requirements a high school student must comply, coupled with today’s deluge of social media and other distractions – serious planning, preparations and focus are usually set at the sides until CET season comes. When a situation like this happens, the senior high school student needs a fast supplementary intervention that will motivate and lead him/her to carefully plan and prepare for the first step to take to be able to enter the university or college of his/her dreams.
The first step a Grade 11 student needs is to review his/her past high school lessons in Language and Reading (English/Filipino), Math, Science, and even practice his/her reasoning skills (abstract & logical reasoning), while at the same time, multi-tasking to become a diligent and responsible senior high school student. Multi-tasking equals lack of focus; lack of focus usually gives half-baked results. As with any other skill, focusing needs practice to become good at it.
Enrolling in a review class will help a student develop and maintain focus on his/her review and preparations for college entrance tests. Summer CET review classes are designed to help a Grade 11 student painlessly recall past lessons and develop better focus and learning skills that he/she can also use upon reaching Grade 12 when he/she takes the actual college entrance tests.
