SABANGAN, Mountain Province – A good number of former and present leaders from the different parts of the province converged in this municipality to openly support the unity for common good being advocated by former Mayor Jupiter Dominguez who as aspiring for the province’s lone congressional post in the upcoming May 9, 2022 synchronized national and local elections.
Tadian Mayor Constito Masweng, consultant Tomas Killip of the Office of the Presidential Advisor on the Peace Process (OPAPP), former Gov. Sario Malinias, former Tadian Mayor Anthony Wooden, former regional director Duagan Claver, Barlig Vice Mayoralty aspirant Ged Constantino, Engr. Daniel Pekley, Harry Dominguez, Manny Aluyen, Bong Chumawin of the Pilando clan, Glen Manao, among other elders from the province’s 10 towns graced the proclamation of Dominguez as the congressional candidate of the LAKAS-CMD party which is the party that is being led by leading vice presidential bet and Davao City Mayor Inday Sarah Duterte-Carpio.
The speakers during the proclamation rally expressed their trust that their plans for the aggressive growth and development of Mountain Province will be realized with Dominguez through shared leadership with them and the people through his just and upright public service.
Further, the elders were one in sending a clear message to the people to protect their unity and their votes so that the province people will have a change in mindset to value principles over material things.
Dominguez, nephew of the late Rep. Victor S. Dominguez, is the lone congressional candidate in the Cordillera that is directly aligned with the leading presidential and vice-presidential tandem of former Senator Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos, Jr. and Duterte-Carpio.
The former and present leaders remain optimistic that the bandwagon that they were able to establish will snowball in the different municipalities during the ongoing campaign period to ensure the possible victory of the former mayor in the congressional race for the sake of the principled greater majority of the populace.
During his stint as the town’s local chief executive from 2001-2007, Dominguez garnered numerous awards, more importantly the Most Outstanding Municipal mayor of the Philippines in 2006 that allowed Sabangan to be placed in the map of top performing municipalities in the delivery of basic social services and infrastructure development throughout his term being at the helm of the local government.
Moreover, he was also conferred the Hall of Fame Award for being the government’s Outstanding Development Partner after having garnered the same from 2003 – 2005 aside from being named as one of the province’s Most Outstanding Public Officials by the provincial government which speaks well of his ability to be able to elevate the province’s status to greater heights.
The former and present leaders are confident that they will be able to earn the trust and confidence of the people after they will be able to expound the legislative agenda of Dominguez during the gatherings that will be conducted in the different parts of the province in the coming weeks.
