BAGUIO CITY – The Irisan Community Environmental Multipurpose Cooperative (ICEMPC) was granted a P 100,000.00 loan by the Manila Water Foundation in order to be used in improving its existing services to its members and the community of Irisan among others.
As a beneficiary of the Kabuhayan Para sa Barangay, a community and Livelihood Assistance Program of the Manila Water Foundation, the ICEMPC will repay the loan in twelve (12) months with no interest which will be beneficial in providing adequate funds for the implementation of its existing projects that would translate to better services for the community.
The ICEMPC started construction on September 17, 2015 of an additional intake tank at its pump house in order to improve delivery of its water service to its member consumers within the different parts of the Irisan community.
The ICEMPC is a community-based cooperative that caters to residents of Irisan , most of which are low-income and so far has been in existence for more than a decade.
It has almost three hundred (300) members and its present Board of Directors are Benjamin Carbonell- Chairman; Julio Guyguyon- Vice Chiarman; and Linda Asuncion, Remigio Sarmiento, Judith Bugtong and Alvin Ah-ul, members.
