On the past years, the search is only for the cleanest and greenest barangay but then Mayor Danglose issued an admintrative Order organizing an Adhoc Committee to monitor/validate the best performing barangay in this municipality. Winner will receive 200 thousand pesos from the municipal coffer.
In additional to the Title as Best Performing Barangay, Barangay Lagan is the champion in Street Dancing, Cultural Presentation and Battle of the Gongs on the elementary level of the just concluded Gagayam Celebration March 28 to 31, 2016.
Barangay Lagan is one of the oldest barangay of this town. It is located across the Chico River facing Barangays Tambingan and Poblacion. Its people are known to be fierce but very accommodating. They resemble the Samoki people of Bontoc who are automatically interconnected especially for the protection and welfare of their barangaymates. They also have these stick together feelings towards each other which other barangays recognized and respect them for that. They have this unique way to appreciate music and arts. It is said that you can’t be bored staying in Barangay Lagan coz they love parties and group picnics.
