LA TRINIDAD, Benguet March 20 – The La Trinidad Municipal Government outlined the stringent rules and regulations that must be observed by residents while the enhanced community quarantine is in full force and effect.
Mayor Romeo K. Salda, based on an advisory, stated that an emergency vehicle will be provided by the local government which will cater to residents from the 16 barangays with serious medical conditions, including those who will undergo dialysis and for assistance, the concerned individuals should contact mobile phone number 0939-990-0789 or 0910-303-8200.
Further, the local government will be hiring and mobilizing limited local Public Utility Jeepneys (PUJs) for the 16 barangays on limited hours, 8 am to 10 am and 3 pm to 5 pm, to assist residents to purchase their basic needs and that barangay vehicles will also be utilized but with strict compliance to precautionary health measures.
The local chief executive ordered barangay officials to give a listing of the poor or indigent residents in their areas of jurisdiction who are in need of relief assistance.
He reiterated the national directive for everyone to confine themselves in their homes unless there are compelling reasons to go out, particularly medical reasons, among others.
According to him, those who are privileged in life should help in any way they can to those who are in need during these trying times.
He claimed that there should be no loitering and that curfew hours is set at 8 pm to 5 am and that closure of establishments not providing basic necessities should stand.
Salda asserted that the local government’s number coding ordinance will remain in effect but road clearing activities being undertaken by the local government will be temporarily suspended.
Moreover, he pointed out that cockfighting and other gambling operations will be banned during the duration of the enhanced community quarantine.
He called on residents to understand and cooperate with the ongoing implementation of the stringent rules and regulations during the enhanced community quarantine because the said policies were crafted by the concerned authorities to ensure the safety of the people and to prevent them from contracting the deadly virus and other ailments that will compromise their health.
The municipal mayor said that personnel of the La Trinidad Municipal Police Station will be strictly implementing the prescribed curfew, especially against those people who will be found to be simply loitering around the municipality during the enhanced community quarantine to allow them to internalize the real purpose of compelling people to stay in their homes.
However, he revealed that transactions inside the Benguet Agri Pinoy Trading Center (BAPTC) and the La Trinidad trading post will remain to be in normal consideration to ensure that traders will be able to provide the required supply of agricultural crops for the lowland markets.
Salda also urged residents and non-residents to fill up the health declaration forms that are made available in the checkpoints for monitoring purposes.
