LUNA, Apayao – The municipality of Luna commenced its three-day celebration of the 2nd Rambak ni Mannalon with a grand opening program at the BGVJr. Memorial Sports Center on June 4.
Themed “Celebrating Our Farmers’ Hard Work and Resilience in Achieving Community Progress,” the celebration was graced by Apayao Lone District Representative Hon. Eleanor C. Bulut-Begtang, alongside various National Line Agencies (NLAs), representatives from the Provincial Government of Apayao (PGA), local officials, and community members.
The festivities began with an Ecumenical Service held at the gymnasium.
In her address, Cong. Bulut-Begtang congratulated the people of Luna for their resilience and significant advancements over the years, particularly emphasizing the contributions of farmers.
“I am glad that we value our farmers, as many of our professionals come from farming families. The farmers in Apayao have made the most substantial contributions to our province. They are the source of our daily sustenance and the goods we trade. Their perseverance and selflessness have enabled our province to prosper rapidly,” she said.
Further, Municipal Mayor Hon. Josephine Bangsil expressed gratitude for the community’s perseverance despite their challenges, particularly recognizing the contributions of farmers as the primary drivers of Luna’s socioeconomic development. She praised the farmers for their hard work and dedication.
The morning program featured several highlights, including a grand float parade, the official opening of the Agro-Industrial Trade Fair showcasing Luna’s products, and the introduction of candidates for the highly anticipated Libnos ken Taer ti Luna 2024. By Krizza Joy Castillo
