TABUK CITY, Kalinga – Nearly P1 million worth of marijuana plants were destroyed by combined police operatives and anti-narcotics agents during a marijuana eradication operation in the mountainous area of Tinglayan town.
In Sitio Ayyum, Bugnay, Tinglayan, more or less 1,000 fully grown marijuana plants were uprooted, 1,200 fully grown marijuana plants in Sitio Pukas and at Sitio Makilo, more or less 1,600 fully grown marijuana plants and 4,800 marijuana seedlings were eradicated.
Although no cultivators were arrested, the operatives were able to uproot and burn on-site a total of 4,280 fully-grown marijuana plants and seedlings planted in a 950-square meters land area that has a total Dangerous Drug Board (DDB) of P952, 000.00.
During the first quarter of this year, assorted marijuana plants, seedlings and hashish were discovered and destroyed in Tinglayan, Kalinga of which PP15,580,000.00 million worth of marijuana was destroyed in February while P17,480,000.00 worth of marijuana was last March.
