The Provincial Health Office (PHO) further pushes its advocacy on Mental Health Awareness during the Flag Raising Ceremony (FRC) cum Monday program at the Provincial Plaza.
The FRC was hosted by the Provincial Information Office, Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office and Philippine Information Office (PIA) – Mountain Province.
According to PHO Mental Health Coordinator Elynor B. Batnag, Mental Health Awareness is a very important thing that a person must develop and be able to maintain.
Therefore, she encouraged the employees of the Provincial Government to take an active part by being a mental health advocate.
“We encourage everyone to take part in this advocacy to have a better mental health in the province. Mental health is everyone’s business,” she said.
Batnag also emphasized that a person can best cope up with stress if he or she is able to identify and manage his or her stressors, engage in physical activities like Zumba to release tension and have a strong support group or system which can either be the person’s family, friends, co-workers, etc..
“We hope that each and every one of us have their own support system. We also hope that within our family, a social support system is provided.
Daytuy met ti mabalin tayu nga ipaka awat idjay da kakadwa tayu ken dagituy da uubing, to have a support system; someone who they can turn into in times of stress or crisis,” she added.
As a strategy to whet the interest of the Provincial Government personnel on mental health, Batnag conducted a brief question and answer activity. Those who got the right answer were given a hygiene kit courtesy of the Provincial Health Office .
For announcements/ updates, Information Officer II Valerie Taguba from the PIA informed that the PIA will be meeting with all the information officers from the Provincial Government and National Line Agencies on October 25, 2022. According to her, the meeting aims to revitalize the government communication network in the province.
