In an exit conference held at the MGB-CAR Information Center on January 9, 2020, members of the visiting team from the Mining Industry Coordinating Council (MICC) presented the initial general impressions gathered during their weeklong visit in the province.
The team composed of sectoral specialists led by Dr. Marian S. delos Angeles of the Development Academy of the Philippines, showed the regional mining bureau officials the general impressions made by the specialists on the environmental and socio-economic impacts of mining in the area visited at Philex Mining Corp in Itogon.
Comprehensive report shall be forwarded to the MICC for appropriate action and recommendations.
The MICC is working closely with the environment department and the mining bureau to improve several policies affecting the minerals development sector to boost the country’s growth and development.
