Year 2 was launched on June 8, with the subsequent event taking place at SM City Baguio on January 20-21, 2024. The two-day journey involved rediscovering unique products from MSMEs and gaining valuable entrepreneurial insights from industry experts.
Micro, Small, and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs) originating from different cities seize the opportunity to exhibit their products. Among these enterprises is Craftscha, a micro-business venture specializing in the handcrafting of products crafted from repurposed and upcycled materials since 2009.
“Last time nasa Ilo-ilo po kami and for us, yun yung first time naming mag out of Manila na selling. Mas nabibigyan kami ng opportunity na ma-recognize ng wider audience” said Angelica Manicad co-owner of Craftcha.
Thirteen MSMEs had established booths during the event, offering a range of products from crafted products to personalized decors, food and delicacies. The businesses that participated included Craftcha, Biba Cakes and Pastries, Charm and Charl Creation, Cheche’s Gourmet, Clara, Darjanes Food Products, Everything is Pine, Godel Chocolate, Isla Kapsule, Kakaw Galleon, Lorenzo Farm, Pio’s Gourmet Tuyo and Shaheen Beauty.
“We believe that as we continue to give our utmost support to our local MSMEs, countless opportunities will open for them and even future business growth and expansions are indeed in sight.” said Asst. Mall Manager of SM City Baguio, Michael Jason Pena.
Nakakalocal Year 2 aims to offer MSMEs ongoing access to STAR’s diverse platforms for product promotion and storytelling. This commitment aims to cultivate a culture of promoting local products among Filipinos, thereby contributing to the economic growth and strengthening of the nation.
In addition to featuring products from local MSMEs, various activities included the energetic Tikim Time challenge, and the stage was brought to life with captivating performances from emerging STAR Local singers.
