TABUK CITY, Kalinga – Residents of Barangay Lacnog West, Tabuk City, will soon receive better social services with the inauguration of its new barangay hall on Tuesday, October 24.
“Agyaman kami unay ken Mayor Darwin ken dagiti dadduma pay nga timmulong nga nangpondo tapnu maipatakder daytoy nga barangay hall mi. Dakkel nga tulong daytoy kadakami,” Barangay Captain Alberto Dawaton said in an interview today.
Through the initiative of Mayor Darwin Estrañero, the city has allocated P3 million for the completion of the barangay’s two-story multi-purpose hall. The building is yet to be fully furnished, but funding is secured for its completion.
Oliver Gacuya, the city’s press relations officer, spoke on behalf of the mayor and assured Lacnog West residents of the continuous support of the mayor’s administration. According to him, the mayor has committed to consistently funding social and infrastructure needs that would improve and sustain good governance in the city.
Aside from the completion of the new barangay hall, the city also donated a rescue vehicle to help the barangay’s constituents avail of immediate response in cases of emergencies.
Other development projects implemented by the city for the newly formed barangay include the following: road concreting going to Sitio Madopdop and Sitio San Pablo; and the installation of solar street lights on some portions of these roads.
Lacnog West was created as another barangay of the city in 2020, which was ratified through a plebiscite funded by the city government. It has a population of 1600. By Rod Asurin
