TABUK CITY, Kalinga – Police Col. Gilbert Fati-ig, a native of Kalinga, stepped in as the police director of Kalinga Police Provincial Office (KPPO) on May 31, 2024. Fati-ig takes over from Col. Freddie Lazona, who held the position in an acting capacity for ten months.
The turnover ceremony, held on June 5 at the Capt. Juan M. Duyan, Tabuk City, was overseen by Police Brigadier Gen. Patrick Joseph Allan, Deputy Regional Director for Administration of Police Regional Office Cordillera (PRO COR).
Fati-ig pledged to streamline KPPO’s operations in line with the objectives of the Philippine National Police (PNP) chief. He also committed to enhancing police visibility, optimizing staffing patterns, and bolstering patrols to curb criminal activities in the province.
Moreover, the new KPPO director also said he will carry forward the initiatives of his predecessor, particularly in the vigorous campaign against illegal drugs, criminality, and insurgency.
He also encouraged the men and women of KPPO to support the DKP 3-Fold Agenda, which stands for “Disiplina at Dasal, Kakayahan at Kaunlaran, Pagmamahal at Pagtupad sa Tungkulin” of PBGen. David Peredo, Jr., the Regional Director of PRO CAR, which is the basis of his administrative and operational programs in the province.
Mayor Darwin Estranero, represented by his Executive Assistant Manuel Estranero, BGEN Romulo Landingin of the 503rd Brigade, other officials of the Philippine Army and PNP, Governor James Edduba, representative of Congressman Allen Jesse Mangoang, Mayor Sacrament Gumilab of Tinglayan, Mayor Almar Malannag of Balbalan and Mayor Joel Tagaotao of Lubuagan attended the event.
