CAMP DANGWA, La Trinidad, Benguet – Nine persons were arrested while over P400,000 worth of illegal drugs were confiscated by combined police operatives and anti-narcotics agents from them during a series of anti-drug operations over the week.
Earlier, six persons were collared by alert police operatives and anti-narcotics agents after they were found to be engaged in a pot session while drinking inside the rooms of one of the victims at Betag, La Trinidad, Benguet recently.
Senior Superintendent David Q. Lacdan, officer-in-charge of the Benguet provincial police office, identified the arrested drug users as Miko Daoanes Bona, 22 , Taxi Driver, native of Papasok Tawang La Trinidad Benguet; Roldan Guardiana Perez, 35, vegetable porter, native of Dagupan City Pangasinan; Bernard Abuan Martinez, 29, laborer, native of Bacnotan La union, and both presently residing at Bayabas Pico La Trinidad Benguet; Jonar Barbosa Sarmiento, 27, vegetable porter, native of Urbiztondo, Pangasinan; Hilario Mejia Lacuesta, 45, native of Dupac del Sur, Nueva Vizcaya and Fernan Macario Ayawan, 28, farmer, native and all residing at Betag La Trinidad Benguet.
Seized from the suspects were assorted drug paraphernalias, cash money, and assorted cellphones.
Subsequently, a labourer was arrested by combined police operatives and anti-narcotics agents near the Mama’s Lyn building along Km. 5 here for possession of illegal drugs.
Lacdan named the arrested drug suspect as Fernan Buayan Vicente, 27, laborer, and a resident of IC- 69 Betag, La Trinidad Benguet and seized from his possession were Five (5) sachet of heat sealed white transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu; cash money; Six(6) assorted cellular phones; Drug paraphernalias; and the buy bust money.
Further, a farmer was arrested by joint personnel of the Tabuk City Police Station after having found in his possession some P400,000 worth of prohibited drugs during a buy-bust operation at sitio Bliss, barangay Nambaran, Tabuk City here Tuesday afternoon.
Senior Superintendent George Daskeo, officer-in-charge of the Kalinga provincial police office, named the arrested drug personality as Jacklennon P. Agpad aka Billy, 39 and a resident of Barangay Agbannawag, Tabuk City after he speedily jumped out from a window to evade arrest but fortunately he was chased by the members of the operating team until the latter was collared and apprehended.
Seized and confiscated from his possession were the following items: One (1) piece Black purse containing one (1) piece “Bulto Bag” containing suspected SHABU weighing approximately forty (40) grams with an approximate DBB value of P 400,000.00; one (1) piece card case containing Six (6) pieces small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance; and one (1) portable weighing scale, a lighter and a scissor.
Moreover, Daskeo revealed a carpenter was arrested by combined police personnel in a checkpoint at sitio Luyucan, barangay Nambaran, Tabuk City, Kalinga for committing a similar offense as those previously arrested.
Daskeo named the arrested drug personality as Sergio Manzano Villanueva Jr., 37 and a resident of Minagbag, Quezon, Isabela was riding on a Black SYM Motorcycle without plate number when he was intercepted.
Aside from having no plate number, also seized from his possession was one small heat sealed plastic sachet containing suspected shabu.
Despite being burdened by various tasks to ensure peace and order in the different parts of the region, law enforcers remain steadfast in the anti-illegal drug operations in order to curb the proliferation of illegal drugs in the different parts of the region and spare the region’s youth from the serious negative effects of illegal drugs to their future.
