BONTOC, Mountain Province – The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) awarded a cheque amounting to ₱75,000.00 to the Vangad-Madnoh Organization on September 7, 2022, at the Provincial Governor’s Office.
The Vangad-Madnoh Organization based in Barangay Talubin, Bontoc is a beneficiary of OWWA’s Tulong Pangkabuhayan sa Pag-Unlad ng Samahang OFWs (Overseas Filipino Workers) (Tulong PUSO) Program of the National Reintegration Center of OFWs (NRCO).
The turnover was led by OWWA National Reintegration Center of OFW Director Gerald “Dindi” Tan, OWWA-CAR OIC Regional Director Luzviminda Tumalivan, Provincial Administrator Franklin Odsey, and Bontoc Mayor Jerome “Chagsen” Tudlong, Jr.
The organization received the first tranche equivalent to 20% of the grant amounting to ₱50,000.00 in December 2021 while the second tranche equivalent to 50% of the total grant amounting to ₱125,000.00 was turned over in April 2022. The recently released cheque was the third and final tranche equivalent to 30% of the total approved grant which is ₱250,000.00.
The remaining 20% of the total project cost is the counterpart of the group.
Meanwhile, three beneficiaries of the for Individual Livelihood Assistance under Balik Pinas, Balik Hanapbuhay (BPBH) are Joeneleyn Grace Bawing who received ₱20,000.00 for her Sari-sari Store; Vilma Sangayab who received her hog raising livelihood grant amounting to ₱20,000.00; and Bernadette Atio-an who received ₱5,000.00 as a grant for her dry goods business.BPBH is a one-time grant of livelihood assistance for distressed/displaced OFW.
Also present during the turnover were Family Welfare Officer of OWWA-Mountain Province Jenelyn L. Ngolab, Labor and Employment Officer III Jenelyn Caluza of the Bontoc Local Government Unit (LGU) and Supervising Administrative Officer (SAO) Ernesto Emilio of the Provincial Government of Mountain Province.
