City officials recently commended and congratulated Eleonor Bugalin Ayan, Mary Hazel Brigola Ballena and Bernardo Talla Cadaon, Jr. for being awarded as Outstanding government Workers in the Cordillera 2023.
In a resolution, local legislators stated that the aforesaid awardees brought honor and pride to the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) and the country for their achievement worthy of commendation and recognition.
The Dangal ng Bayan Award is presented to an individual for the execution of remarkable demonstration of public help and reliable exhibit of praise worthy of moral conduct based on the worker’s perception of the eight norms of conduct given under the pertinent provisions of Republic Act (RA) 6713 or the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees.
Ayan, nutritionist-dietitian III of the Cordillera office of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD-CAR), was one of the recipients of the said award for her services and duty by initiating programs to address the needs of underprivileged children residing under the DSWD child development centers.
On the other hand, Bellana, School Principal II of the Department of Education Schools Division of Abra, was also a recipient of the said award for her advocacy in combatting malnutrition, illiteracy and non-numeracy through innovative solutions.
Cadaon, Jr., Social Welfare Officer I of DSWD-CAR, was also commended for garnering the similar award for his outstanding practices that helped the region improve its youth rehabilitation center.
The awardees received a trophy, a gold-gilded medallion made and sponsored by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), and P200,000 cash from President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. during the awarding ceremony held last February 14, 2024 in Malacañang. By Dexter A. See
