TINGLAYAN, Kalinga – Combined police authorities and anti-narcotics agents led the ceremonial burning of more than P30 million worth of marijuana plants that were earlier uprooted from various plantation sites in Buscalan, here, Tuesday.
Police Brig. Gen. David K. Peredo, Jr. led ranking police officers of the Police Regional Office (PRO) in the Cordillera in the burning of some 150,000 pieces of fully-grown marijuana plants with a standard drug price of P30 million which were planted in a 5,000-square meter plantation site in Mount Chumanchil, Buscalan.
The aggressive anti-illegal drug operation was successfully conducted in collaboration with the Brigade Commander of the 503rd Infantry Brigade of the Philippine Army Brig. Gen. Romualdo Raymund B. Landingin and Regional Director Laurefel P. Gabales of the Cordillera office of the Philippine Enforcement Agency (PDEA-CAR), the PNP Drug Enforcement Group Special Operations Unit, the Philippine Coast Guard and the National Intelligence Coordinating Agency (NICA).
Further, the success of the aforesaid operation was a result of PRO-COR’s continuous adherence to the guidance of PNP chief Police Gen. Rommel Francisco Marbil and in line with the intensified campaign of President Ferdinand R.
