LA TRINDAD, Benguet – Allegations about a politician receiving money from the operation of the chicken dung staging area in Tublay, Benguet spread after the charges for the staging area increased.
The care taker, Orid Tacay, explained that their payment charges for the staging area increased because of the legal payment they are paying to the local and provincial government.
“The allegations were however a long time issue but no one would come forward to tell their complaints and allegations face to face”, Tacay said.
Some business women have went to the Provincial Council and informed the council about the allegations going around.
Board member Nestor Fongwan Jr., requested for an immediate investigation about the said allegation.
“Since the quarantine ordinance of the province of Benguet was implemented, the parking fees being collected by parking operators in Tublay went up by 2 pesos. From the original 10 pesos, it became 12 pesos. The breakdown of the additional 12 pesos, wherein 30 centavos will be paid for the quarantine fee per sack and the remaining 1 peso and 70 centavos goes to the board members and other provincial officials. This is over and above the alleged share of the provincial officials from the original fee of 10 pesos”, Fongwan said.
He added that he is not personally receiving anything and that he is neither interested nor involved if there is indeed payola on the chicken dung. Other board members have also denied their involvement in the alleged issue.
