The Police Regional Office Cordillera (PROCOR) has seized a total of Php 83,808,092.00 worth of illegal drugs and nabbed ten (10) drug personalities in separate anti-illegal drug operations conducted by the different police units from July 16 to July 22, 2023.
Citing records from the PROCOR’s Regional Operations Division (ROD), the ten (10) drug personalities were arrested after they were caught in possession of a total of 10.69 grams of shabu, with an overall Standard Drug Price (SDP) of Php 72,692.00.
The same report disclosed that the five (5) arrests were made by the operatives of the Benguet Police Provincial Office (PPO), followed by the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) with three (3) arrests, and the Abra PPO with two (2) arrests.
The suspects were identified as Reynato Soriano, 23; Hecules Verzola, 24; Froilan Ringor, 31; Nollie Quinto, 31; Kurt Delmas, 17; Wilmer Lizardo, 33; Willyn Sendico, 28; Jaysie Liked, 32; Hercen Cadicoy, 44; and Ritchie Delos Reyes, 35.
All arrested suspects and confiscated pieces of evidence were brought to their respective arresting units, while charges for violating the R.A. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, is being prepared against them.
Meanwhile, in a separate marijuana eradication operations, twenty (20) clandestine marijuana plantation sites with a total of 372, 565 Fully Grown Marijuana Plants (FGMJP), 5,560 Marijuana Seedlings, 70, 000 Dried Marijuana Leaves and Fruiting Tops, and 5, 000 Marijuana stalks with an overall Standard Drug Price (SDP) of Php 83,735,400.00 were discovered in the provinces of Kalinga and Benguet.
These were all burned by operatives after documentation, and follow-up operations are being conducted to identify possible marijuana cultivators. Also, police officers are continuously conducting barangay visitation and information operations regarding the anti-illegal drugs campaign of the PNP especially marijuana cultivation and illegal drug trade.
