PUGO, La Union – The municipal government and the Tinungbo Organizing Committee recently launched the conduct of the 4 Tinungbo festival that will run from December 11, 2019 up to January 19, 2020.
The month-long festivities fired off last Wednesday with the conduct of the float parade that was participated in by the 14 barangays that displayed their own floats which was followed by the recognition of outstanding citizens of the municipality and an entertainment provided by a local band.
Last Friday, the town was lighted with the lighted lantern contest that was followed by the choral competition among elementary and high schools in the municipality last Saturday.
On December 20, 2019, contestants of the Ms. Pugay contest will be participating in the pre-pageant night which will be followed by the Mobile Legends competition among the millennials and the Battle of the Bands on December 21, 2019.
Further, the town’s 14 barangays will be fielding their contingents to the Barangay choral competition which will be held on December 22, 2019.
Dance enthusiasts will also have the chance to display their prowess during the Zumbarangay on December 27, 2019 which will be followed by a motor and car show on December 28, 2019.
Barangay tanods will be given a chance to showcase their own talents during the conduct of That’s My Tanod on December 29, 2019 which will be followed by the annual Pasungad 2020 wherein local officials and residents will gather in the town plaza with preliminary activities while awaiting the coming of the year 2020 on December 31, 2019.
Year 202 will start with the pre-pageant of the Mutya ti Pugo on January 3, 2020 followed by the Tinungbo fun run and Educator’s Night on January 4, 2020.
The Tinungbo cross country mountain bike race and the Tinungbo Tabo tattoo competition will be held on January 5, 2020.
On January 10, 2020, finalists of the Ms. Pugay will be joining the Coronation Night which will be followed by the Enduro mountain bike competition and Dance Craze on January 11, 2020.
The Eunduro Challenge 22 will be held on January 12, 2020 wherein finalists will be joining the grueling competition.
Local officials and residents of the municipality will be actively participating in the Tinungbo Community Night on January 16, 2020 followed by the drum and lyre competition and Hataw Sayaw on January 17, 2020.
The Farmmers Day and the popular Tinungbo cook fest, Laro ng Lahi and the Coronation Night of the Mutya ti Pugo will be conducted on January 18, 2020.
The month-long festivities will be capped by a mass, grand civic-military parade, streetdancing competition, Philippine Military Academy (PMA) silent drill and the Tinungbo concert on January 19, 2020.
The theme of the 4th Tinungbo festival is ‘Study Traditions, Solid Community, Building Blocks of Continuous Growth and Solidarity.”
