The R.O.C. ballclub posted its eleventh win in the elimination round of the Engineers Hill Barangay Invitational Basketball Tournament, against the Hoteliers Team, 102 – 56 on the last canto of game 1 last Monday; April 20, 2015 at the Engineers Hill Barangay covered court.
Meanwhile, tournament organizer and Barangay Kagawad Henry “Butch” Gayot congratulating the R.O.C. team’s effort for a record high 11-0 win loss card in the elimination round, said that the R.O.C. assured of the top position in the semi-final round will be waiting for their opponents as elimination games are still going on.
Gayot said, that the semi-final round will be played in a two to beat 1-4, 2-3, cross over format, with the championship game to be played in a best of three games, for first and second place and a knockout game for the third and fourth place. He added that awarding of winners will be done on the day of the Engineers Hill Barangay fiesta on May 1, 2015.
On the other hand, R.O.C. team manager Atty. Victorio DC. Ruiz said that team work and the teams’ effort does not end in winning games but the teams’ involvement in the community. Winning friends is good for the team, but helping others to work as a team is better. Having supported the team for the past years, Atty. Victorio and son Dr. Bereck Ruiz (optometrist), in coordination with the Engineers Hill Barangay Officials will be conducting a community outreach program for eye patients at the Engineers Hill Covered court on May 2, 2015.
