Sabado, Martes rule the Pilipinas Run, Baguio Leg

BAGUIO CITY – Gerry Sabado nipped Marcelo Bautista by just two seconds to rule the Men’s 16k distance while Cristabel Martes crossed the tape four minutes earlier than his closest pursuer to control the distaff side during the 2017 Pilipinas Run, Baguio Leg last April 9, 2017, here.

Sabado clocked in 01:08.01 to Bautista’s 01:10.00, who had to settle for the silver. Arriving just a second later to claim the bronze is Floyd John Gerton, clocking 01:11.01.

Martes checked in at the 01:20.02. She was followed by Marissa Cayowet at the 01:24.02 mark and Nelisa Tanaza Badongen with a time of 01:28.05.

Wenny Lawrence Baroga (45:00:00) was a two and a half minute winner of the men’s 10k distance. He was trailed by Dodie Dino Junior (47:25:00), and Arlo Noelle Lee (47:28:00).

Marween Corpuz (01:01.04) topped the women’s 10k distance by seven minutes clear off her closest rival. She was followed by: Maureen Naca (01:08.03) and Marezscka Espanillo (01:12.06)

Khensher Wegiyon took home the men’s 5k distance trophy by clocking 27:00:00, slightly ahead of Anthony Fawagan’s 25:34:00, and Ralph Junsset De Guzman’s 26:32:00.

Christine Ann Taruc claimed top honors of the women’s 5k distance arriving at the same time with Wegiyon. She was trailed by Erika Maine Bulatao with a time of 27:29:00, and
Rowena Lachica with a clock of 28:13:00.

The RF Pilipinas Run is known for renewed national commitment to advocate wellness as a lifestyle, and educational support for less privileged children. “This fund raising event (was) patterned after the London Marathon and (will) have Rizal National High School as its beneficiary”, Philipp Pacle, Renderfarm Sports’ race director said.
