BAGUIO CITY – With the goal of creating sustainable communities, SM Foundation conducts health and wellness programs to the marginalized members of society. Through its medical missions and its Felicidad T. Sy Wellness Program, SM Foundation provides free, comprehensive, accessible and quality medical and dental care to target beneficiaries nationwide.
This year, SM Foundation, Inc. is set to hold its medical and dental mission at La Trinidad Municipal Gym targeting 1000 patients on April 13 followed by another mission at SM City Baguio-Lower Basement Parking on April 14 targeting 1,500 patients who will receive free medical and dental assistance.
SMFI initiated “Gamot Para Sa Kapwa”, a comprehensive medical and dental mission, in response to the need of the indigent families to be provided with complete healthcare.
SM Foundation will offer free chest X-ray, ECG, random blood sugar screening, blood pressure monitoring, medical consultation, dental services and free medicines to patients in cooperation with Department of Social Welfare and Development, Philippine National Red Cross Baguio- Chapter, 911 On Call and the City Government of Baguio.
In Baguio City and Benguet, SM Foundation has already organized 20 medical missions assisting 16,277 of patients in indigent communities since 2005 until May 2015.
SM Foundation Inc., SM’ s outreach and community service organization, has four areas of advocacy: education through scholarship and donations of schoolhouses, mall-based outreach programs, health, and community projects. Its guiding principle through the years has been People Helping People, as it undertakes projects with civic organizations, government agencies, and the media.
For SM Foundation, caring for the sick and the less fortunate has gone beyond traditional. It means promoting the total well being of individuals by providing them basic health services and most of all, encouraging them to have a positive outlook despite life’s many challenges.
