LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – The verdant desire of Rep. Eric Yap to help people from far flung communities in the province improve their current difficult living condition through the needed assistance paved the way for him to bring the appropriate lighting accessories to identified beneficiaries in various areas over the past several weeks.
The lawmaker took the risk of walking for several hours just to reach the residents in the remote communities to provide them with appropriate lighting accessories so that they will have access to various forms of media that will allow them to be well informed of the latest developments inside and outside the province.
Further, the residents who had been deprived of access to electricity will be able to maximize the use of the solar panels, solar panel boxes, power inverters and other lighting accessories for them to significantly improve their living condition while awaiting for infrastructure development to be implemented in their places.
He pointed out that his office will not stop to look for ways and means to extend appropriate assistance to residents who have no access to electricity so that they will not be deprived of one of the basic needs of life for them to survive the difficulties of living in the countryside.
Yap underscored that residents who could hardly be reached because of the absence of roads should not be deprived of the basic services such as electricity so that they will be able to hurdle the difficulties of life by being able to establish their desired economic activities to provide for the needs of their families while living in their desired areas in the province.
According to him, there are still people who prefer to stay in their residences that are actually difficult to reach that is why it is now up to the government to bring to them the basic services that they must enjoy to survive that is why he is doing his best to visit the remote communities to know the needs of the residents and try to look for ways and means on how to provide the same to ease the said burden from the said individuals.
He assured the residents that better and increased wave of services will be given to them in the future aside from the implementation of the appropriate infrastructure projects that will significantly improve access to the remote villages for them to easily transport their agricultural produce from their farms to the nearest trading centers and command better buying prices for their products.
Earlier, Congressman Yap prioritized the construction of roads leading to remote villages in Tacadang, Kibungan and Kayapa, Bakun while other similarly roads leading to other remote areas in some towns are programmed for implementation in the future
He asserted that infrastructure development should be complimented with the efficient and effective delivery of quality basic services to the people in the countryside so that they will feel that the government cares for their welfare aside from being able to improve their living condition through established sustainable economic activities.
The congressman will continue to make representations with concerned government agencies so that residents will continue to benefit from the implementation of various programs, projects and activities beneficial in uplifting their difficult living condition in the rural areas. By Dexter A. See
