TABUK CITY, Kalinga – The Social Security System (SSS) – Tabuk City office now accepts application to its Education Assistance Program.
Anthony Ramos of SSS-Tabuk said the scholarship aid is granted to SSS members, their direct family members and kin.
Under the program, SSS grants a maximum loan of P200, 000 for the college education of qualified grantees. Loan amount is based on approved computation.
For old beneficiaries, they must have at least six posted monthly contributions within the past 12 months prior to their application. New applicants must have regular contributions posted for three years.
Qualified applicants are those receiving monthly salary below P25, 000 and below 60 years old.
As loan, grantees are asked to pay the borrowed amount plus minimum interest six months after graduation.
Meanwhile, SSS is also accepting loan re-structuring under its Loan Re-structuring Program (LRP). Under the LRP, SSS condones unpaid penalty to previous loan in the application of new loan. This is granted to calamity-stricken areas, Ramos said.
