TABUK CITY, Kalinga – The streetscaping of a 750-meter segment of the provincial road in Dagupan Centro has enhanced the aesthetics of one of the city’s busiest thoroughfares, improved mobility of pedestrians, and increased the city’s green spaces.
Completed in 2021, the Streetscaping Project was a partnership of the city government with the Department of Budget and Management under its ‘Green, Green, Green,’ program, a unique assistance that aims to make cities more livable and sustainable through the development of public open spaces.
Indeed, since the project was completed, this Dagupan neighborhood has become more walkable, with wide paths for pedestrians and cyclists, and safer, with solar-powered lamps installed, evolving into a recreational center.
To complement the project, the City Engineering Office is currently implementing additional road works.
The Streetscape Project is among the road developments in Dagupan Centro completed under Mayor Darwin Estrañero’s administration with the rehabilitation of Daguitan St. which had been repaved and repaired, and widened from six meters to nine meters to improve traffic. By Tabuk City PIO
