TABUK CITY, Kalinga – The city government has recognized Julius Mejia Bangibang, one of the young Filipino farmers who completed the 11-month training at Katsurashima, Nakagawa-Mura, Kami-Ina-Gun, Nagano in Japan, during the flag-raising ceremony at the Tabuk People’s Gym.
Specifically focused on fruits, Bangibang, a Cudal 4H Club member, received agricultural training from April 13, 2023, until February 23, 2024.
Acting City Mayor Dick Bal-o’s representative, Francisco Gamatero, together with City Agriculturist Lim Docyugen, City Administrator Arnold Tenedero, 4H Club focal person Noriebel Salibad, and 4H Club Federation President Giovanni Addatu, presented and handed over the two certificates of completion given to Bangibang by the Government of Japan and the Department of Agriculture.
Bangibang also received a cash incentive of PhP15,000.00 from the city government.
According to Docyugen, the city fully supports anyone wishing to apply for agricultural training programs overseas and encourages everyone to do so when the opportunity arises.
Currently, there are two 4H Club members from the city, Joseph Luminio from KSU 4H Club and Raymar Omeccas from Cabaruan 4H Club, who are undergoing a pre-departure orientation course at the DA ATI Central Office for the 11-month training this year. By Ian Addatu
