BONTOC, Mountain Province – In an impressive display of skill and determination, Team Bontoc from the municipality has claimed the top spot in the 2nd Mountain Province Rescuelympics.
Team Bontoc was awarded a grand cash prize of P50,000.00 and a plaque on August 7, 2023, at the Provincial Plaza.
The competition, organized by the Provincial Government of Mountain Province through the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO), brought together rescue teams from various municipalities to showcase their expertise in critical emergency response scenarios.
Throughout the competition, Team Bontoc demonstrated their exceptional capabilities in a variety of challenging events to include Bandaging and Patient Management, Extrication and CPR, Patient Rescue and Transport, Flammable Liquid Fire Extinguishment, and Quiz Bee category.
The outstanding performance of Team Bontoc can be attributed to their rigorous training conducted by the personnel of the Bontoc Fire Station, Bontoc Emergency Response Team, and the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office. The dedication and commitment of these trainers deserve special recognition for molding a championship-caliber team capable of facing any emergency situation with confidence and expertise.
In a statement, Mayor Jerome “Chagsen” Tudlong, Jr., commended the team’s exceptional display of skill and determination. Likewise, he emphasized the importance of emergency preparedness and the role of skilled rescuers in critical situations.
Further, the mayor extended his gratitude to all members of Team Bontoc for their commitment and hard work.
“Their dedication to honing their rescue skills and their unity as a team have brought honor not only to the municipality of Bontoc but to the entire Mountain Province,” he added.
