BAGUIO CITY May 14 – Philippine mobile leader Smart Communications (Smart) today announced a revitalized lineup of postpaid offers in its continuing drive to provide better data services to its subscribers.
Subscribers can now choose from either the all-new Surf Plus Plans or the fully customizable All-In Plans which both provide more opportunities for users to be able to make the so-called ‘digital shift’ to more data services.
Smart’s new Surf Plus Plans, for example, offer subscribers the power to choose the perfect plan that’s fit for their mobile data needs. Starting at Plan 399, the Surf Plus Plans offer subscribers bigger data volume allowances ranging from 100MB to as much as 9GB, plus the flexibility to select a FREE app of their choice which they can change every month.
Power and Flexibility
Subscribers can choose from the following freebies: YouTube access or SPINNR music streaming for the Stream-Savvy; Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook access for the Socially Active; LINE, Viber, Whatsapp, or Facebook Messenger for the Chatterbox; Gmail and Yahoo! Mail access for the Work Junkie; and Waze navigation for the Street Smart. Access to these freebie apps will not be counted against their monthly data volume allowance, or until they reach the allocated data volume per app.
Smart’s All-In Plans, meanwhile, provide a fully-consumable and fully-customizable postpaid experience so subscribers can better manage their mobile consumption every month. Users can choose from a host of text, talk, and mobile data flexibundles that they can subscribe too, so they can have the freedom to plan their usage based on their budget and lifestyle.
Kathryn Carag, Postpaid Marketing Head at Smart said the plans were designed this way because when it comes to mobile data, “there is no one-size-fits-all solution.”
“Users still want to be connected to their friends and loved ones via calls and texts, but now we are seeing increased usage of digital mobile services for communication and entertainment,” said
“With the advent of affordable data-enabled smartphones today, users want to stay constantly connected on Facebook, Instagram, LINE, Messenger, and other digital channels. This is why we have designed our new postpaid plans to have bigger data volume allowances, so they can continue to have that ‘always-on’ experience on mobile,” Carag added.
Smart is one of the wireless units of leading telecommunications service provider PLDT, whose total postpaid segment posted an 11% revenue growth year-on-year to P5.7 billion during the first quarter of the year.
This was due to the remarkable growth in its subscriber base during the period, reaching 2.9 million or an 18% rise from the year before.
This move toward more data-centric offerings is backed by the more than P39 billion planned CAPEX for the year, which will be allocated toward extensive 3G and 4G rollout across the country, as well as in expanding the company’s current 114,000 kilometers of fiber-optic network nationwide.
The best phones on the best network
To make sure they maximize the best postpaid plans from Smart, users can choose from a wide range of the latest and best-in-class smartphones, including the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S6 edge, the Sony Xperia M2 Aqua, the Sony Xperia Z3, the Lenovo S90, the Samsung Galaxy A5 LTE, and the Lumia 532, among many others.
